Francis, together with other students from Philippine Science High School, joined a protest march in December of 1970, when he was killed by a pillbox thrown at the students while passing by FEATI bridge.
This December of 2020, we honor Francis and his fellow students who bravely marched for their right to improve the condition of schools.
It will include a screening of the short documentary "Iskolar: Aktibista" by Brian Villanueva, based on interviews with Francis' sister Siena Therese Sontillano, Ronald Jan Quimpo (PSHS 71-B)'s sister Susan, and with alumni Jose "Butch" Dalisay (PSHS 71-A) and Pio Verzola Jr. (PSHS '72).
We will also remember Francis' batchmates from PSHS '72, Rolando Cada and Carlito Añonuevo. Both activists have passed away and were honored during the 2012 Pagpugay at Pahingalay tribute at Bantayog ng mga Bayani. and will be joined by their families.
We will also remember veteran activists from the extended Pisay community who were resource persons during the 2018 screenings of "Iskolar: Aktibista" and who passed away this year: Engr. Roberto Verzola of Batch '69, PSHS BOT member and Pisay parent Dr. Alan Ortiz, and Ms. Susan Quimpo.
This event is open to relatives and friends of those we will honor during the event, alumni, current students, teachers, staff, and all members of the PSHS community. Seats are limited in Zoom, so please reserve a slot by using the form below.
