This black trimmed room used to be the Principal's (spelling hint - your "pal") office.
My guess is that his desk backed up to the wall on which this modern blackboard was subsequently mounted.
The original design of the school included this door between the office and this classroom.
The schedule for May 29, 2015. The "last" last-day-of-school. It was nice that they made a bit of an event out of it.
This was the other 6th grade classroom in 1962. The carpet was put down a few years later when the library was moved to this room. More recently it was converted back to a classroom. Deferred maintenance has taken its toll.
I had intended on getting this speaker at the auction but for some reason there was aggressive bidding on them. I have no idea why the guys bidding wanted so many of these.
The Mudhen, funny how you settle on a book and it forever becomes the most important book in your life. This one helped me get through so many bad times that it was difficult for me to leave it behind when I went away to college. A bit like Andy and Woody.
Top floor 1949 Addition original floor tiles were green, those on the middle floor were brown.
This is my fourth grade classroom where I did this football poster in October 1959.
Perhaps inspired by the 1959 Topps football cards that I had started to collect that fall.
My last classroom 1961-62, Mrs. Thornburg.
