Private school looks for new head
A private Wolverhampton school - shaken by the resignation of its headmaster - is seeking a new head. The 330 pupil Royal Wolverhampton School is advertising for a new headmaster to replace Mr Raymond Hawkins, who quit a month ago. Mr Hawkins walked out after being under fire over his handling of staff cutbacks at the fee-paying school.
He had been head for seven years but was at a centre of a controversy after two members of staff were made redundant at only days' notice and others were told to reduce their hours. But the school governors said that his leaving was not connected with staff changes.
