New Technology

Pupils at Wolverhampton public school have the benefits of new technology in the classroom, at home or in the dormitory. The parents have given the Royal School, Penn Road, a £5650 portable micro computer. The school already has two micro computers and the new machine is an added bonus. Headmaster Mr Raymond Hawkins said "It means pupils can take the computer to wherever they are working." He predicted that in a few years time students and school children would own portable computers like they now own calculators.

Andrew Rich, aged 17 (left), demonstrates the correct use of the micro-computer to Vicky Lewis, also aged 17, at the Royal School. Looking on are Ian Pointon, aged 16, and careers teacher, Mr Colin Walker
