Dear Reader,
I hope that you enjoy looking at the Ophney website. Inevitably, it can only give you a glimpse of events there, but I hope it transmits the correct atmosphere of the Royal Wolverhampton School in former years.
The school got its nickname because it started life as a Victorian orphanage. It was run along these lines until the 1970's, though it's now changed beyond all recognition.
Most of the newspaper reports on this site date from the era when Peter Howard and Raymond Hawkins were headmasters. All of them have been transcribed because of their source material's poor visual quality.
