Coaching

The Club usually offers subsidized coaching courses each year consisting of 10 weekly, one-hour sessions. If there is sufficient demand, two courses are run in parallel, one for beginners and one for improvers. Sessions normally take place mid-week and courses start around the end of April/start of May.

Coaching is only available to Club members so applications for coaching from non-members cannot be accepted unless accompanied by a membership application.

If applications exceed the number of places available (20 in total, 10 per course), those who have not received coaching from the Club before are given priority as long as they apply by the specified deadline, which is usually early April.  Any places then remaining are allocated on a strictly first come first served basis.

For details of the fee and how to apply for a place, see the Coaching application form. Note that applications for coaching do not open until around a month before the deadline and the application form for the current year is not available via this link until shortly before applications open.

Because these coaching sessions are heavily subsidized by the Club, no refund on the fee is given to anyone who drops out, unless the circumstances are exceptional. A partial refund may be made if there is a waiting list for places and the person who drops out informs the Club in good time to fill the vacated place. The decision of the Coaching Secretary is final on these issues.
