Transparency in course design

June 2020

eWorkshop on Transparency in course design / expectations for students

Our first Virtual Event took place on June 12th at 1pm (EST).

Many of us will be delivering courses that have strong online components this upcoming year; the learning experience and expectations for our students are likely to be different than students are used to. This session aimed to (i) identify components of the learning experience that our students should be aware of at the start of your course, and (ii) brainstorm methods we could use to communicate our ‘expectations’ with students. As a quick example, if you’re expecting students to interact in a manner that requires a microphone, this is something that you should be transparent about from the start.
