This page contains information about the PhD job market. It is most useful for our students who are completing their PhD, but all students are encouraged to look at these resources. In particular, it is never too early to create your own academic web page.
Feel free to add your favorite links and advice.
The AEA's job market page is

A list of our department's current job market candidates is under the "people" menu on the department web site:

and even older:
The department is moving away from Dropbox. Check back here if you find these folders are gone.

A very useful web page recommended by Professor Prina:
https://www.aeaweb.org/joe/scramble/
This is a service that starts in March for those who have not yet found jobs.
You should create a Google Sheet page that you can share with your letter writers. Each row is an application with a column faculty or JH can check off as they submit letters. This can also be a shared Excel file saved on OneDrive or on a Google drive.
You should create a dropbox folder which you can share with your letter writers. Include material they might need to help write letters. There are alternatives to dropbox, but the point is to help your advisors and letter writers to do a good job.
Students on the job market may need to attend the ASSA/AEA annual meetings for face-to-face interviews with universities and many consulting companies. But zoom has largely replaced these. So you can wait until you know for sure.
Here is a schedule of meetings:
https://www.aeaweb.org/conference/future-annual-meetings
Note that in January 2025 the conference will be held in San Francisco, CA.
I think the first two are pretty self explanatory. Here is one site that discusses the diversity and inclusion statement. Feel free to add other links to this list. Some universities have stopped asking for Diversity statements.
Plus you can set up one on one meetings with their staff to go over a specific item like a diversity statement.

NBER Links to Students on the Job Market - look at your competition.
Students on the market must create a web page to list their research, advisors, interests, and more. Put a link to your web page on your resume/CV and your job market paper.
Northeastern now offers hosting services for faculty and student web pages. See

Google Sites is also good. https://sites.google.com/new. I use that. https://www.jamesdana.net/home. And if you purchase a domain name you can assign it to a Google Site.
Here is good resource: 'How to build an academic website' link at Kevin H Wilson's home page. He does a good comparison of 3 ways to build a website (based on different time and money constraints).
