Spelling City Anything numbered 1 to100 are first grade sight words. These are the first 100 words on the Fry list. (50% of all words in any book.)
Anything numbered 101 to 200 are second grade sight words. These are the second 100 words on the Fry list.
Anything numbered 201 to 300 are third grade sight words. These are the third 100 words on the Fry list. (65% of all written material.)
Words towards the top of the list have 25 words in a list. Words on the bottom of the list have 10 words in a list.
Lists followed by an R (ex. 1-20 R) are review lists and have 20 words in a list.
Click on a list. Go to Play A Game. Choose Read-A-Word and play it. Also, Audio Word Match is good.
Don't be fooled by the name of the site. These are really reading games, not spelling games.
After the student can read all 100 words at their grade level, have them spell all 100 words.
