July 1st celebrations always brought about a great range of activities which involved all age groups and was looked at as a great fun day at the beach.

This image was quite common in the 1940's and 1950's and even into the 1960's and early 1970's.

This image was taken in July 2014, the merry go round is still there but for how much longer, now removed.

This is an image that was given to me by my mother-in-law Mitzi Stein which was taken sometime in the early 1940's. It shows first, second and third dock and the Band Stand in the background.

This is an image I took for Donna (Graham) Williamson in the early 1980's as she was an exchange student and required a slide presentation to take with her on her travels.

This image was taken in July 2014 showing the remaining dock, the stairway in the background and one lonely little pavilion on the shores of Phantom Lake. This shows you the change over 75 years of Phantom Lake.

This is one of the only signs which is still standing on the beach of Phantom today.

One thing that still remains is the famous path to Phantom Lake. Many a family had strolled down this path with picnic basket in hand to enjoy the beach and togetherness with friends. Many a lad and lass have rode their bicycles down this path as well, also strolled by young lovers hand in hand.
