Sailing book reviews
A personal and completely biased look at new, old and interesting sailing publications
I am often disappointed when I read reviews in sailing magazines and then later read the books reviewed. All too often the reviewers have more than just a hint of recognition that most of the publishers are potential advertisers. Some of the books reviewed favourably are simply awful.
This section of the site will contain reviews that include my biases. My review interests are towards small boat sailing but can range widely across the whole spectrum of sailing books.
I'll be listing the books reviewed on this page and will link to a separate page for the review.
One place to get most of these books is the Nautical Mind Bookstore in Toronto. They have a great selection and can ship all over the world. http://www.nauticalmind.com/
MAny of the books I have acquired have come from remainder stocks. A good source is www.bookcloseouts.com which ships to both Canada and the U.S.

Reading about sailing is not as good as sailing - but it is better than reading about anything else.
