As requested in the Spring newsletter, here’s a note from a real "old-timer," who served as teacher and administrator in 219 from 1958 to 1971, from the opening of Niles West to the opening of Niles North, a few of the best years of my professional life, which started with teaching positions in New York City and Chicago. I resigned from 219 in 1971 to take a position with NASSP in Washington, D.C., where I eventually became the Executive Director before retiring in 1999, when I accepted a VP position to initiate and manage the Education Division at Rowman & Littlefield Publishing, Inc. Now 18 years later in that capacity, I continue to work in publishing books on educational issues for the profession at all levels. At age 85, my energy level remains as high as ever! So far, final retirement is not planned.
