Since retiring in 2006, I have volunteered as a tutor with young immigrant children, one of whom was just given a full scholarship to college. My husband and I sing in two choirs, and have traveled with one of them to Italy, Greece, Ireland, Spain, and will head to France next year. We also travel on river cruises in Europe, an experience I highly recommend. I am a volunteer at Jesse Brown VA, and supply that facility with clothing for homeless and in-need veterans on a weekly basis. I am able to shop for clothing at thrift stores with funds provided by the DAR. I continue to study the flute, and have been building dollhouses in my basement. . .my current project is quite elaborate. (I was saddened to hear if the death of Bruce Sorensen, who taught me so much about woodworking.)

Gardening, biking and spending time with my pup, Buster Dore, take up much of my time, also.
