This 3 mile walk starts and finishes at the northern end of the bridge onto Hayling Island. You need to check tides as part of the walk is along the top of the foreshore which can be covered at high tide. There are two pubs directly on the route. Start from The Ship Inn and follow the path at the edge of the shore towards the windmill tower. Just before this, opening onto the path, is The Royal Oak.
On the outward journey follow the Solent Way signs until the end of the fields after the cemetery. Here the path rejoins the shore. Turn right and follow the top if the shore back to the car park.
