Ankit

Mr. Ankit Dual Degree 2010-2015, Cybermarine, Navi Mumbai, India (2015-17); PhD (2017-2020) Dept of Civil Engg, University of New South Wales, Sydney Australia.

He studied a compliant ocean tower modeled as a non-uniform Timoshenko beam, with a tip mass (modelling the superstructure), non-classical base (modelling the soil foundation); subject to wave and earthquake loads. The fluid radiation pressures were included in the axially loaded Timoshenko beam. Rayleigh-Ritz method was used and verified with FEA for the free vibration study. Parametric studies were done for the soil-structure interaction of non-classical base ocean tower as well as mono-piled ocean tower. He won the Best M.Tech project in April 2015. Teaching Asst : Autumn 2014

Outdoor : presented his work at OMAE2014 (June 2014) in San Francisco, USA; with full Institute funding.
