Intro to the Keyboard
SEE PRACTICE LOG - Record what you are learning in your music journal, write down your goals, deadlines and recitals date. Hand writing notes and keeping track of your learning progress is a fundamental part of the learning process.
Also establishing a regular practice routine is critical to incorporating piano practice and playing into your like. Practice in 15 minute focused sessions is a good start for most new musicians. PSQ (practice study quarter) = 15 minutes of Focused Regular Scheduled and Logged Practice Time. 4 PSQ = 1 PSH Credit
Piano Performance is the Ultimate Goal - Either playing sight reading sheet music or playing from memory by ear.
It often takes new musicians some time to determine which type of musician they are. After a few weeks of playing piano, most pianist find that they are more orientate towards either eyes or ears and much prefer one method over the other.
More then likely, one way will be naturally more appealing. Either way, piano performance and playing music is the ultimate goal.
If you are a natural sight-reader or play by ear type, you will soon find out. Both methods benefit tremendous from understanding Music Theory. Practicing the scales is what will improve you finger work.

Learning takes time, material learned adds up quickly. The greatest periods of learning often overlap with the difficult times. But if you stick with it, you will get it, and it is so worth it.
