1st Grade BEGINNER PIANO SCHOOL Graduation Requirements

To complete first grade , enroll in BPS and take 10 one-on-one (30-45 mins each) Piano Lessons, ideally weekly or monthly.
Attend all ten thirty minute lessons (L1-L10) and complete 10 homework assignments (HW1-HW10),
Utilize the Triple Check box Review System ☑☑☑ to learn all 50 Learning Objectives (LO),
Start a music journal/mblog (MJ/online music log) and log Practice Study Hours (PSH) for Credits,
Earn 10 Credit hours of total cumulative focused practice study hours (TCPSH),
and finally play one live performance at our school recitals or audio record your 5 best songs.
Enrollment in the Beginner Piano School provides structure and guidance all new musicians need for success!
All you have to do to start is commit to 10 lessons...
and BPS will take care of the rest. First Grade BPS is divided up into 4 quarters...
1st Q = Lesson 1 + 2 “My First Piano Lessons”
2nd Q = Lesson 3, 4 + 5 “Getting to know the basics of Music Theory”
Midterm – Review first 5 Lesson's Learning Objectives
3rd Q = Lesson 6, 7 + 8 “Piano Fundamentals”
4th Q Final Semester Lesson 9 + 10 “First Grade BPS Review & Graduation”
To Graduate 1st Grade, simply complete goals listed above. There is no time requirement to complete 1st Grade. Take ten classes in ten weeks or ten months, whatever works for you. Achieve the ultimate goal of playing 1 Live Performance at any school recital or just for family and friends. 1st grade students will learn a manageable but respectable amount of music theory per lesson and how to sight-read & play piano. First grade is only the start of a lifetime of enjoying classical music and piano.
HOW TO USE THE ☑☑☑ Triple Check Box Review System
Use the Triple Check box Review System to ensures you have a complete understanding of the fundamentals of music theory,
all of which are covered in our 50 easy to learn "Learning Objectives"... Check the 1st Box when LO is first learned, 2nd Box when LO is reviewed in HW and 3rd Box when LO is reviewed during Midterm and Final Review class.
Are you ready to make a music plan and stick to it? If your answers to these questions are Yes, you may now officially enroll in 1st Grade Beginner Piano School, and commit to taking 10 lessons. Take as much time as you need, finish 1st grade in ten weeks or ten months, whatever works for you. It’s important to have the goal of completing 1st grade in your mind from the beginning, because this will help you be successful in the end.
This is the start of a wonderful and personally satisfying journey and rewarding experience for you. It is your learning and practicing piano that makes up the bulk of your overall experience of piano, so lets make it great! Keep your goals in mind, learn a little at a time and enjoy the experience of learning and playing music. The beginning is the hardest part for most new students.
