Promise about Music Theory, it is all worth it in the future... I admit, learning “Music Theory” is the hardest and definitely most boring part of learning to play classical music. Music Theory is abstract and complicated at first, but I promise it is all worth it in the long run. Understanding the fundamentals will enable you to take your music playing to whole new levels. And the more you learn about the theory, the more it all starts to come together and the better it gets and the more sense it all makes. You will be so very thankful that you've taken the time to understand the fundamentals in the very beginning.
BSP teaches new students an easy, manageable amount of theory per grade level. Practicing and studying the lessons in this book, students will advance quickly and be playing their favorite songs in no time. Understanding how all the key fundamentals fit together, one 30 minute weekly lesson at a time. This school will help you establish a weekly routine of regular “focused” 15 minute practice sessions and keep you on track to learning a little something new each week. You should by keeping a music journal to record progress. All the while supplementing learning by watching YouTube piano tutorials, (and the understanding the theory behind it all).
You'll be amazed and pleased with your progress in less than a few months if you stick with it, attend class and complete homework assignments. Your skill level will greatly improve as a result, and before you know it, you'll be graduating to Second Grade (earn 100 PSH credits to level up). Just remember that the more you learn the better it gets ;) And don't forget your reasons for wanting to play piano in the first place. Good luck!
This is only the beginning of a lifetime of enjoyment that learning and playing classical music will bring you.
The enjoyment of success is the reason people take piano lessons.
