review Limericks
There once was a mouse in a house
Who showed off in her pretty satin blouse.
When a new cat arrived
and couldn't believe it's eyes.
Now that cat is the house of that mouse!
Limericks can be used to summarize facts that students know about a topic, too. For example, studying about bees and the deadly varroa mite contributing to the Colony Collapse Disorder of honey bee hives throughout the Western Hemisphere, students can use a limerick to summarize what they learned. Here is my limerick summary:
There once was a hive of honey bees,
Who politely asked the varroa mites to leave.
When the eggs were put to bed
Months later they were dead!
Those mites spread their deadly disease.

Long Ago!
Long ago when dinosaurs roamed in our own state,
they had a healthy appetite and this is what they ate:
green leaves and tops of trees,
tall grass, high as giraffes.
What a funny diet, I wouldn't like to try it.
