Version 4.0.1 (beta)

Post date: 26-Mar-2011 15:18:51

This release includes a couple of bug fixes to the options page and a minor enhancement.

The first bug fix is to saving a Search Engine or Additional Search Engine where the preferred encoding for spaces was %20, prior to the fix a selection of %20 was reverting to +.

The other bug fix is to the new editor pop-up for Search Engines and Additional Search Engines. If you added a new Search Engine and then closed the editor without populating any of the entry fields, you were left with a new blank Search Engine. Now closing the pop-up editor will remove the search engine if the entry fields are still blank.

The enhancement is that it is now possible to mark a Search Engine as only being available as a context menu option or only available as an Omnibox option.

Finally, a note on the new experimental addition, of the embedded search engine web page Further tests now seem to indicate that this works, it is possible to add the Default Search Engine to Chrome's list of search engines using the URL:

chrome-extension://afmdpmddiokpdknaeofdnlclbpgehhce/search.html?s=%s

Also note, that doing this also allows you to override the built in tag of "multi" with your own preferred tag.
