One of the main reasons that the club was founded as a chapter of ESW was to facilitate foreign service projects. Consistent with the Engineers for a Sustainable World philosophy, these projects aim to consider the environmental, economic, and social sustainability of the areas in which they occur. ESWMOSS has also a strong commitment to promoting sustainability on the Mudd campus. Each semester, we engage in several projects to make Harvey Mudd more sustainable and encourage students to think about their impact on the campus environment. Some of these projects, such as Dorm Energy Competitions, are yearly events while others last only through the semester. To learn more about campus initiatives, click here.
We envision Harvey Mudd College as a model campus for sustainability, where student directed projects both through coursework and through clubs and independent research drive the shift to a more sustainable life for all at HMC.
