If i linked only a binary package here it's due to limited space on the hosting side :(. Contact me via Email (mtron*at*a1.net) if you want / need Source Packages of binaries that you can't find via google. Though i honestly can't believe this can happen, since that's how i got my hands on them ;)

This plugin for the audio player audacious enables you to listen to dvb-c/t/s radio channels. Just install audacious from the official repositories and then install this plugin deb package. Homepage of this plugin is here. You can tune to e.g. the exellent Radio Nova on Astra 19.2 with the command (or load a playlist) :

Fuppes is a GPL UPNP Server for Linux. It streams audio & video to UPNP Clients like Xbox, PSP, N800 ect. Ulrich uploaded some changes to svn recently (12/08), so he seems to be back, Fuppes is NOT DEAD! Jeeha
Since this package still didn't make it in the repositories, i have build proper ubuntu binary packages of latest fuppes svn and extra packages for the transcoding plugins (see the README in the archive) .
You will need ffmpeg & the -unstripped versions of the packages libavformat, libavcodec, libavutil and libswscale (these are already in the ubuntu "multiverse" repositories)
After Installation you need to configure fuppes, see the fuppes wiki. The build in web-interface can be reached at http://<your-ip>:8010

k9copy is a DVD - Shrink app for linux. Written in Qt3, it's a very intuitive gui for shrink'ing DVD Rips to fit on a DVD-R. You must link the binary with "sudo ln -s /usr/local/kde/bin/k9copy /usr/local/bin/k9copy"

Gxine is another fronted for the xine engine. As the name suggests it's written with the gtk2 toolkit, and integrates flawlessy in the gnome look. DVB functionality isn't as far developed as in the kde - frontend kaffeine. To use gxine's dvb support you need a szap compatible channels.conf in your ~/.xine directory. Tip: You can change channels via OSD by scrolling the mouse - wheel ;)

Make sure you have the latest release of the theora library installed (>=alpha7), which contains lots of MMX optimisations that should speed up encoding considerably
