Below is a listing of announcements pertaining to the area of MSB liturgies.

The MSB Sangha is now including the Pema Tensum protector prayer as one of our regular prayers both in group and individual practices. Download the Pema Tensum or contact us to order a paper copy. When reciting either the extended or short daily protector prayers, please insert this prayer right before the The Swift Activity: Lama Yidam General Dharmapala Petition protector prayer. Download a new version of the Extended Protector Prayer audio recording that includes the Pema Tensum.

There is also a new version of the Mahadeva protector prayer that's recited during the Extended Protector Prayers that includes terma symbols at the end of each line. We ask that everyone use this new version of the prayer. Download this revised Mahadeva prayer or contact us to order a paper copy.

Also just to clarify, when individually reciting the Extended Protector Prayers as a daily practice, it is optional to recite the Phutser and Nga Sol chants; these are typically saved for tsoks or special days. However, if one is reciting the Kasung Magom Chamdrel as a shabten practice, include both the Phutser and Nga Sol as part of the recitation that you count towards your shabten accumulations. Finally, recite the Entrusting Ekajati and the Protectors with Activity and The Swift Activity: Lama Yidam General Dharmapala Petition just once during daily practice, as opposed to the multiple times they are recited during tsoks. At the recent Riwo Sangcho retreat, Rinpoche made a change in the liturgy. On the left side of page 7, the word "Boyul," which means "Tibet," should be changed to "Dzamling," which means "the world."

When one is doing the short or long protector prayers in one's daily practice, the last line in the last section Prayer for Fulfilling the Wishes should be 'Chöchyong sungma namla tashi shog'. When doing the prayers as a group, within a tsok, the last line should be 'Chöchyong sungma namla chagtsal töd'.

We now have newly updated Daily Protector Prayers and new MSB Opening, Closing and Supplementary prayers available in pecha format. The new daily protector prayers in particular are substantially different, both in their reordering and in containing additional prayers (for example, the Roar of Hung and the 'Lama Yidam' prayers), not to mention fewer errors. It is highly recommended that all MSB students who do daily protector prayers acquire these new prayers. The new MSB prayers, available as a complete, contiguous set, also reflect new additions (long life prayers, Prayer for the world, etc.) as well as containing the 'supplementary prayers' we chant at the different programs (Heart Sutra, Praise to Manjushri, mandala offerings, etc). Likewise, we have eliminated many errors found in previous versions.

In the last line of the four line "Prayer to be Reborn in Sangdo Palri" where it says "Lama mepe..." it should read "La na mepe..." Please make this revision since it has a significant impact on the Tibetan meaning.

Please note the following change to your tsok liturgies: Guru, (page 29), Dakini, (page 28), left side after the feast song, fourth line (Tramze chyi-tang dolwa yang): change 'dolwa' to 'dolpa'. In other words, change the ‘w’ to a ‘p’. This changes the meaning significantly, to reflect the actual english translation. This is particularly important for chöpön’s to be aware of when they recite this section of the liturgy out loud.
