WFS Welding Job Outlook

Use selective highlighting to find important information from the source that will help you write your paper. The text based questions will help you find the information that Mr. L is looking for in your paper.

How to read your assignment: Look for the info Mr. L expects to see in the body paragraphs of your paper. Look for the big idea (thesis).

Using evidence from all texts (GoWelding website and, Chron websites and Welding Journal), write a 5 (minimum) paragraph paper on the topic below. Use specific, relevant and sufficient evidence from the texts to develop your paper. Do not simply summarize the text. Identify each source as you refer to it. Maintain a formal style of writing. Follow the conventions of standard written English.

After reading the two articles, write a report in which you describe the career opportunities expected in the field. What is the job outlook for welders? Why? What factors are influencing the availability of jobs in the welding field? What opportunities exist? What changes are expected in the welding workforce? Is it a good time to become a welder? Use details from all sources: the Go Welding article, the Chron article and the article published in the Welding Journal, to support your position.
