Fern Ridge High School Film/Photography Club

As the Fern's Film/Photography Club we strive to better the Fern Ridge High School community. At Fern Ridge High School we celebrate community and diversity. Fern is a place where everyone is accepted for who they are.Fern Ridge High School Film/Photography Club gives students a better understanding and appreciation of film as an art form. Students learn film terminology and explore the many different genres of motion pictures. As a club we examine the impact of film socially, culturally, and as a medium. Our club strives for a open interpretation and discussion on many movies. The films that will be viewed range from critically acclaimed films such as Citizen Kane to culturally popular films such as The Empire Strikes Back. The overall goal of the club is to enjoy film and gain a better conception of the magnitude of its value. We will investigate what the famous director Stanley Kubrick meant when he stated, “If it can be written, or thought, it can be filmed.” Our club members use their new knowledge to create their own films and videos.
