WebQuests are sites created by other teachers that focus on specific questions or tasks. Students will look for answers to these questions/tasks by traveling to the different links provided on the site.
(Assignments = 30 Extra Credit Points)
Write a 1-page reflection describing what you did and what you learned.
Make a presentation of what you learned to the class.
Some webquests require a product. Presentation is required but reflection is not.

Men and Women in Science: This webquest will have students research famous scientists and present poster exhibits to honor them. The students will work in groups to complete the webquest. Each group will research one male scientist and one female scientist. When the students have completed the process, the exhibits will create a classroom museum. A museum tour guide will then be made that asks questions about the exhibits and relates them to one another.
Changes in Science: This is a WebQuest which will allow students to explore change in the natural world and connect those changes to themselves.
Experimenting in Science: This webquest will help teach the parts of the scientific method.
Science Detectives: Use the scientific method to discover what might be lurking under your school!
Professor Schlenk's Laboratory: This webquest teaches and /or reviews safety rules for the science laboratory.
Science Fair Project: This is a comprehensive, step-by-step outline for students to follow in order to have a complete science fair project.
Experiment Database: Look through a list of experiments to try on your own, and then demonstrate in the classroom.
Acids and Bases: You will create a poster which describes different types of acids and bases you find around the house. Before doing this they will play a game which helps them to learn about the differences between acids and bases.
Element Brochure Project: You will choose an element, conduct research, and create an educational brochure.
Superhero Science: Students will learn about matter through online research and reading. They will discover what matter is, the four states of matter, the changes matter undergo, and the properties of the states of matter! Students will create a superhero 3D model with one-of-a-kind state of matter superpowers! A prediction and description will be required as well as a 3-4 minute presentation over their project.
The Great Cell WebQuest: Learn about what makes up all living things.
Body Systems: Explore the different systems of the human body and find out how they work together.
Digestive Venture: Explore the digestive system.
Food is Fuel: Find out what good nutrition is and design a better menu for all.
Digest-a-Quest: From this webquest students can learn the process of digestion and how our bodies obtain nutritients to help us grow and sustain life.
Wildfire: A webquest designed for grades 3-5 to learn about wildfires.
An Ecological Issue: A science/literature webquest designed for 5th graders on the topic of ecology.
Acid Rain: You will explore what causes acid rain and decide how to rescue a town from the downpour.
Butterflies: Explore how the life of a butterfly is impacted by humans.
The Water Cycle: Fifth grade Science- Learn about the water cycle and how it works.
Weather Wise: Students will be responsible for creating a weather broadcast, highlighting certain aspects assigned to them. They will present their broadcast to the class using a kidpix slideshow as their background. Students will be taped and the tape will be a station during student led conference.
Earthquakes: Students will study the science of earthquakes and the frequency in which they occur.
Volcanoes: Your will decide if a shopping mall or hotel can be built near a volcano.
Science News Team: This WebQuest is designed for students to learn about volcanoes.
Lets Play: This is a Web quest designed for 5th graders to design a new playground for their school. The students will need to use art, science, math and social studies skills in order to complete this project.
Egyptology: Ancient Egypt was rich with knowledge in art, physics, science, geometry, literature and much more. This webquest is designed to expose the students to the wonders of an ancient civilization and uncover the wealth of knowledge that was being practiced thousands of years ago.
Moon Tides: Understand the connection between our oceans and the Moon.
Our Solar System: Come learn about the solar system!
Space Travel: Design a space ship that will accommodate the students in your group on a trip to the International Space Station. Complete science explorations before your return to Earth.
Rocket Science: Design, build, and fly a model rocket!
Brilliant Black Holes: On this WebQuest you will go on a adventure that is out of this world! You will be learning all about black holes and researching them. It is a very amaizing subject waiting for you to explore.
