Dear Parents,
The Walk Through the American Revolution is an interactive simulation that reenacts key points of the American Revolution. It will be taking place next week on Thursday and Friday, March 18th and 19th, 2010. Due to scheduling conflicts, a minor change has been made for the presentations. Each presentation will be attended and supervised by the homeroom teacher:
Mrs. Sandoval’s Walk Through: Thursday, 8:30 to 11:00am
Mr. Hillman’s Walk Through: Friday, 8:30 to 11:00am
Mr. Ng’s Walk Through: Friday, 11:30 to 2:00pm
Students in Mr. Ng’s class will need to bring a sack lunch to eat before their scheduled performance due to the lunch schedule conflict. Students will be able to eat their sack lunch at 10:45 on Friday.
Students should try to be in costume to portray the person they are representing. Students not representing an historical figure can still dress up as a colonist or British soldier – please visit the 5th grade website and link to social studies for suggested ideas for costumes. Costumes help to heighten the Walk Through the American Revolution experience, but they are not mandatory.
Space for visitors is limited if parents wish to attend. The presenter has requested that small children not attend the performance and that video photography is not permitted (still photography is OK).
Thank you for your understanding. We look forward to seeing you there!
Sincerely,
The Fifth Grade Team
