Video Submission Rules:
1. The first rule is to follow all the rules. If any of the rules are ignored, you will either not get any points or get partial points.
2. The first 5 seconds of your movie should show a black background screen with the name of your video in white using FUTURA font. The name of your video should be:
Title of Video_Last Name_First Name_Last Name_First Name_Last Name_First Name
3. The instructional portion of the video can be no longer than 4 minutes and 55 seconds. You may use up to another 60 seconds for credits.
4. Follow the very specific rules related to the use of copyrighted content. Any image or music used in the video must be copyright friendly; e.g., made by the student/teacher or taken from specified websites.
5. All media used must be properly cited in credits at the end. Click the link for more specific instructions for each type of media and a format for citations.
6. Because these videos will be freely available online, you will need release forms for anyone (besides yourself unless you opted out of being filmed in school) identifiable appearing in the video. Examples of release forms are below (THIS ARE JUST EXAMPLES, DON'T USE THESE):
7. The finished video will be submitted in two formats. The first is a youtube URL submitted in the form below. Make sure to make your youtube video public or unlisted. If it stays private, you will not be able to show it on the day of the presentation and you will get a zero for your project. The second format can be in any of the following formats: .avi, .m4v, .mov, .mp4, or .wmv. Do not try to e-mail me this file, it will be too big. Use Dropbox and provide the Dropbox file URL in the form below. For instructions on how to use Dropbox click on this link.
8. The filename must follow a specific format. The format is the name of the video with the names of the group members, and all words should be separated by the underscore character. For example, if the video is called "Marginal Utility" and by a student named Maria Cortez (we'll also assume it is an .mp4 file), then the name would be: Marginal_Utility_by_Maria_Cortez.mp4
9. Submission of the video is due by Sunday, May 27th at 5:00PM. The form is time stamped. You will lose 1 point for each hour that the video is late. You final score is out of 10 points.
10. OPPORTUNITY FOR EVEN MORE EXTRA CREDIT POINTS: If you can "chunk" your video to 90 seconds segments and make each segment it's own video, you can submit these videos to Next Vista's River of Creativity Video Contest. You 90 second videos need to make sense on their own so don't do this if that's not possibility with your video. Show the videos and proof that you submitted it to Next Vista by Sunday, May 27th at 5:00PM and you will get 20% extra in extra credit.
