Discipline is teaching, not punishment!

Many of the class and school rules revolve around the students accepting responsibility for their own actions. Showing self-discipline, self-monitoring, self-awareness, willpower, toughness, and self-control are excellent ways to demonstrate understanding of these schoolwide expectations. Using these qualities students must demonstrate understanding of our class/school rules in: Being Safe, Being Responsible, and Being Respectful. Should students make poor choices and not follow these rules/expectations, they are to reflect in writing, on their choices, have that signed by their parent or guardian, and return their writing to their teacher. Click here for a copy of that Reflection Form. Note: students should reflect only on their choices not any parts played by others.

Note: Please allow your student to learn by holding them accountable for their choices. Making excuses for your student does them no good and does not allow them to learn expectations.

All discipline is designed to be instructive, corrective, and delivered in as non threatening a manner as possible.
