Welcome to AP biology. You should be prepared to learn more about biology than you thought existed. You will grow as a learner, question the world around you, and gain valuable skills that will help you reach your goals.
Why take AP Biology?
-The content will be VERY useful in preparation for medical school.
-Taking and doing well in AP courses has a tremendous affect on your college application!
-The content will help you gain a foundation to study biology in college. (it may even make your first few biology classes VERY EASY)
-You can get college credit if you obtain a 4 or 5 on your AP Biology exam at the end of the year. (This means you do not have to pay for two introduction biology classes, saving you thousands in costs).
-You may simply be a curious minded individual that wants to know how the world works from a biology perspective.

These molecules are made of atoms of Carbon, Hydrogen, Nitrogen, Oxygen, and Phosphorus, and Sulfur. The only way these heavier elements are created is during the explosion of a star. Therefore, we have a deep connection with the universe. As Carl Sagan said "We are the universe attempting to understand itself".
