What is Experience Learning? Experience Learning are activities students can do to enhance their academic studies in the field of Economics, American Govt, or become better citizens (a overall goal of social studies). These points are added to enhance the students grade as they made additional effort to go above and beyond the normal requirements of the class.
There are several opportunities for students to get Experience Learning (EL). ALL EL assignments are due three days before finals.
1) Do any of the following mini-projects, 25pts each (may do one or all of them):
a. Attend school board meeting when Mr. Achs goes (must stay 2hrs). Speak during open forum.
b. Give blood
c. Write letter to school newspaper (Editor)
d. Sing the WHS Fight Song (click on subpage below).
2) Do Econ Math Practice Activity 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11, 60pts. Click Here See Mr. Achs for the actual handouts. Note this math activity is mandatory for Econ Red Track students.
2) Do another CR, 50pts. For example, you must to CR 1 or 2, so do both. The second one turns into EL.
3) Take the Citizenship Test. Note this test is mandatory for AmGovt students.
a. Light (1/2 test, 50 questions), 25pts
b. Heavy (full test, 100 questions), 50pts
Note: Both tests are online. You need 90% or above to pass: Click here You may take these tests as many times as you wish. Tell Mr. A your final score (feed the box).
4) Take the Iowa/QC Test (online), need 90% or above to pass: 40pts Click here Note this test is mandatory of World Studies students.
5) Do a EL Project. Students may only do ONE Experience Learning project.
