Mount Field East Plateau

A lovely plateau is reached by following the Mount Field East Track up from Lake Fenton. As the track crosses the plateau it had become badly degraded from usage and being flat had developed into a bog for most of its length. From here the track continues and drops a short distance down to Windy Moor.

The FOMF began working at improving the plateau crossing in 2006 and the bulk of the work continued until 2010. It has recovered very well where hardening occurred. At the time there were several spots that did not appear to need action, but over the intervening 10 years these now need attention.
