Caffeinated Ghost

Brena Imel is an incredibly talented and creative human being. From cosmetology, to podcasts ,jewelry, hand drawn and digital art. Brena includes a spooky but delightful edge to her work. Brena is a former student of mine and we have stayed in touch all these years. This month she brings some witchy wonder, in adorable frames, to our minigallery. Come check it out in person and follow her @caffeinatedghost on instragram or purchase jewelry from her etsy at : www.etsy.com/shop/CaffeinatedGhostCo

Pee Wee's Playhouse

February takes us on a wacky nostalgia dive. I loved all of the "research" I needed to do for this project by watching old episodes. Paul Rubens, himself, will be in pdx on February 14th to kick off the anniversary tour of Pee Wee's Big Adventure. SCREAM REAL LOUD!

Also, 90% of the materials I used on this build were sourced from Scrappdx . Reduse, Reuse and recycle! Made by Alissa Tran

Jed Adelman

Jed Adelman is a graphic designer and artist who you may have seen at the Portland Saturday Market. He's also one of our neighbors! Jed's tiny skeleton characters have gotten a lot of love and appreciation this month and it's not hard to see why. These framed minis bring some whimsy to our gray PDX days. Be sure to follow Jed @j.a.graphic.arts on instragram , find him at Portland Saturday Market or visit his website: jagraphicarts.com

MUPPETS!

I think quarantine and pregnancy are making me extra nostalgic, but if you know me well, you know I love all things Jim Henson. This month's show includes some tiny paintings and a sculpture of one of my favorite muppets, Gonzo. He is, of course, flanked by his chicken pals.

Labyrinth Love

From Ludo, to Hoggle, to the Fireys, the Labyrith made a lasting impression on me. I loved sculpting this little worm too. Come say "'ello" to him and his friends.

Black Lives Matter

We love seeing signs from the marches, peaceful protests and the pockets of resistance that popped up all over the globe. Black lives matter and so does civic engagement. We must acknowledge our actions as individuals and systemic issues that perpetuate oppression. Most importantly, we need to listen to BIPOC people in our neighborhood and beyond. This display will be up for the duration of summer.

Down the Rabbit hole

A glow in the dark cheshire cat sculpture, tiny mushroom pals, mini foods and other nods to Wonderland. Also, a chance to use the miniature croquet set and tea cups!

Halloween Tableau by Rebecca Penna

Our annual Halloween show, curated by none other than guest artist Rebecca Penna. She has created scenes for us in the past, including an adorable garden party scene in 2018. This months she has a mini feast inside a giant pumpkin, so enticing that even the zombies have noticed. This harvest scene is whimsical, detailed and full of fun. Check it out and enjoy some mini art grab bags while supplies last.

VOTE!

This month's show features a ceramic bust I made as a demo for my ceramics 3 class(Did you know I am a high school art teacher?). Surrounding the bust are postcards from local organization @nastywomengetshitdonepdx

Make sure you VOTE!

Meet the Krampuses

A family of Krampuses enjoy a Christmas at home as they quarantine together. Be sure to wear your masks and practice social distancing or Krampus might be coming for you!

This display includes two large posable Krampus puppets and one baby krampus sculpture. This is always one of my favorite annual shows.
