Put a Bird on It
A multimedia show with an owl skull illustration, warbler prints, embossed metal, robin skull illustration and ceramic sculpture. As Portland residents, we just had to do it.
All artwork by Alissa Tran.
Seaside High School Homecoming
A blobfish in a sweatervest, hammerhead in Hawaiian shirt and Pacific Octopus cheer in the gym. All sculptures are ceramic with underglaze and glaze.
Curated and created by Alissa and Jerry Tran.
Monster Taxidermy
A posable griffin puppet/sculpture with real pheasant feathers, a polymer Baku sculpture, and tiny mounted monster heads.
All artwork by Alissa Tran
Angsty Anglerfish
Keith the Anglerfish is one of my favorite posable puppet sculptures yet. His angler glows and their something just so lovable about this teenage deep sea rocker. His band "Fishsticks" just finished their tour. I loved making this character and his bedroom tableau.
Created and curated by Alissa and Jerry Tran
Garden Tableau
There are so many tiny details in this garden scene, from the tiny polymer sculpted veggies and table setting to the naughty rabbit in the garden. Our first guest artist and curator, Rebecca Penna, translated her love of miniatures and green thumb to create a tableau sure to require a closer look.
Created and Curated by Rebecca Penna
Party People
Alexis Rittenhouse created and curated this show for the month of July. Her sculptural creations have amazing textures, patterns, sparkles and pops of color. They also glow in the dark! If you enjoy these whimsical characters, be sure to check out her work at alexisrittenhouse.com and follow her on instagram @alexisarah
All artwork created by Alexis Rittenhouse
Parisian Picnic Tableau
Hop on your bike or Vespa and enjoy a tiny picnic! A collaborative scene created by Mother/daughter team Rebecca Penna and Alissa Tran.
Tiny Primate BBQ
Rakoto the Ring Tailed Lemur and Tala the Tarsier enjoy lunch in Laurelhurst Park. They could be featured in a book or stop motion short in the future, but for now, they are just enjoying the last days of summer. Each character is a fully posable puppet made by Alissa Tran. Photgraphs by Jerry Tran.
The Truth is Out There
Mulder and Scully investigating paranormal and extraterrestrial activity, right here in PDX! Several of the paintings and tiny aliens are glow in the dark, making this show interesting at night too. Bring your flashlights and trust no one. Paintings by Alissa Tran.
PlanetLeash
A fluffy surreal landscape with clown inhabitant, floating eye and twinkling lights. Welcome to Planet Leash. Local artist Leash Holden created this month's installation. Be sure to check out more of her work at planetleash.com and follow her on insta @themisskitty
Krampus
The origins of Krampus are pre-Germanic pagan and the name comes from the German word for "claw". He is the son of the Norse god of the underwolrd, Hel. More recently he serves as a counterpart for Saint Nicholas. Often depicted with chains, a bundle of sticks and a basket or bag to capture naughty children. Hope you were all good! Posable Krampus puppet and painting by Alissa Tran.
