American Cretaceous

Anthropomorphic dinos in a variety of settings, from art historical references to a dapper raptor. This multimedia show includes paintings, ceramic sculpture, and small prints on magnets. Whimsical and weird, just how we like it! All artwork created by Alissa Tran.

Tiny Primates

Tiny primates have been a source of inspiration for years, perhaps because my day job includes teaching young human primates. This multimedia show includes images of a ringtailed lemur, mouse lemur, ruffed lemur, bamboo lemur, sifaka, tarsier, and loris. These endangered prosimians have so much character. All artwork by Alissa Tran.

Love and Entomology

Butterflies, weevils, and beetles...oh my! Collage, illustration, and a tiny insect amphora were a part of this tiny show. Insects are so important to our ecosystem and should be celebrated in their own right. All artwork by Alissa Tran.

Poison Dart Frogs

We recently acquired two juvenile Azureus dart frogs and it has only increased my amphibian obsession. They are actually only poisonous in the wild so our captive bred beauties just serve as entertainment. This show includes tiny acrylic paintings and larger than life sized ceramic sculptures. All artwork by Alissa Tran.

Crystal Exploration

This show grew from some test pieces for a larger project be displayed at Pacific Northwest College of Art. These studies include experiments with ceramic, resin, borax crystals, glass, and collage. All artwork by Alissa Tran

Cabinet of Curiosities Tableau

October is the perfect time to get a little creepy. This study includes a man-eating plant, hand emerging from a mirror, various tiny specimens in bottles and bones. Collecting and creating tiny objects was a delight!

Created and curated by Alissa and Jerry Tran.

Woodland Creatures

Tiny ceramic pendants and acrylic animal paintings are featured in this autumnal show. complete with a tiny light-up fire pit. A owlet with suspenders, playful opossum in pink and and dutiful snail are the main characters.

All artwork by Alissa Tran.

Big foot and Yeti

Some bigfoot in birkenstock prints hang in the background as two fully posable cryptids sit amid a snowy forest scene, Polymer clay sculpted features with pudgy furry bodies. In preparation for a posable puppet class in 2018 at Oregon College of Art and Craft and in response to my own stop motion animation research, I decided to create these little guys and see what I know before I refine my skills further.
