chromium os on the pi 2

Chromium OS has released version 0.5 for the Pi 2 and 3. I've been waiting for it for quite a while, so I can use the Chrome browser.

So how does it run? Pretty good I think. I'm typing this on it, on a Pi 2.

The Chrome browser seems a little better than Epiphany. I don't have to do a workaround to sign out of Google. And I don't get the annoying obsolete browser messages. YouTube seems to work OK also.

I tried installing a couple apps, but that didn't go so well. One didn't work because it had a native x86 component. The Chromecast extension page locked up the browser. For now I think it's best to not use any extensions.

The release notes indicate that it needs at least a 1080p display, but it seems to work fine with my 1366x768 monitor. I'm using DVI however, not HDMI.

And it's lots of fun being able to change your OS by swapping an SD card!
