State Guard (Army)

On Monday, the 1st of July, 2019 the California State Military Reserve (CSMR) changed it's name back to the California State Guard (CSG), as part an overall rebranding by the California Military Department.

Our joint services team is made up of soldiers from Army Readiness Command, airmen from Air Readiness Command, and sailors from the Maritime Command, who all perform under Army guidelines IAW TC 3-21.5.




Specs

Minimum number of team members: 3 two guards and the National colors

Maximum number of team members: 6 two guards, National colors, and three others

Standard colors compliment: U.S, Flag and State of California Flag

Poles: ash wood with silver hardware

  Tips: silver spaded spear tips

Uniform used: Typically respective service's dress uniform with service covers except for Maritime; some parades are done in respective service's utilities with patrol caps. (Per TC 3-21.5: "...In addition to the uniform, the Color guard should be provided white polyester dress gloves, uniform neck scarves, and a white, black, or olive drab flag carrier. The flag carrier could be a single or double leather or web strapped harness with a brass or chrome cup.")
