While funeral honors details are not necessarily performed by color guard members, the ability to be proficient at drill and the attention to details are very similar. In the California State Guard, we as members of the color guard, have provided funeral honors to our deceased who were non-prior service and would not otherwise receive honors from an Armed Forces or National Guard honors detail.
