Michael Dulian

Hello. Thank you for taking the time to review my portfolio. I'm a 41 year old senior level AutoCAD technician with 19+ years of experience in the fast paced trade show exhibit industry. In those 19 years I have honed my skills in 3D modeling, technical drawing and illustration for the production, assembly and setup of a vast range of mechanical and architectural structures and installations. In addition, I can generate 2D and 3D part files for various types of both CNC and manual manufacturing and fabrication process utilizing a wide range of materials.

The primary focus of many of my personal interests also tends to revolve around making and building things. Ever since I was very young, I have had a passion for radio control vehicles. I have designed, fabricated, built and then driven, floated or flown and often competed with almost every type of R/C vehicle. Growing up in rural Wadsworth, IL, I was also exposed to and had a passion for power sports such as motorcycles, snowmobiles, personal watercraft and aircraft. Not only have these interests helped to develop my skills as a maker, these hobbies and interests have also helped me to expand my knowledge base into mechanics, aerodynamics, hydrodynamics, basic electronics,internal combustion engines, steam power , wind power and electric power systems.

Through both my professional and personal experiences, I have developed a good working knowledge of many forms of automated and manual manufacturing processes and equipment such as:

-CNC: Routers, Beam saws, Milling Machines, Lathes, Water-jets, Laser engraver/cutters,

-3D printers: FDM and SLA

-Thermoplastic forming: Vacuum forming, blow molding, roto-molding, basic injection molding.

-Manual wood working: Cutting lumber directly from trees with a family owned sawmill. All the way through producing finished products. Using all forms of power and manual tools and equipment.

-Manual Metal working: Lathes, milling machines, saws, presses, fastening, sheet metal equipment, de-burring, polishing,

-Finishing: Painting and finishing systems, HVLP, Powder coating, anodizing, plating. media blasting, heat treating.

Some future skills I would like to learn and develop are Tig and Mig welding, electronics and circuits, and advanced battery technology. I would also like to take a refresher course on CNC G-code programming, as I recently built a couple CNC routers and 3D printers for home use.
