McMurry University in conjunction with Texas Tech University offer a
Graduate Admission Agreement
to the Texas Tech University
Physics MS Degree Program
upon successful completion of a McMurry Physics Degree.
Texas Tech University has agreed to guarantee physics students at McMurry University graduate admission into the Texas Tech University M.S. degree programs in physics, provided certain criteria are met by the student. Students not meeting the criteria outlined below are also encouraged to apply, admission will be on a competitive basis. The necessary criteria for guaranteed admission to these options are outlined as follows.
Student must receive, by the time of enrollment at Texas Tech University, a B.S. in Physics from McMurry University.
Course work must include the following with a letter grade of at least a B:
Electricity and Magnetism (1 semester minimum) - Physics 4310
Quantum Mechanics (1 semester minimum) - Physics 4330
Minimum overall GPA of 3.00/4.00
Minimum GPA in intermediate and advanced physics courses (course number 3000 and greater) of 3.25/4.00.
Meet all the requirements of the Texas Tech Graduate School.
File completed applications with the Texas Tech Graduate School and Physics Department (separate applications) prior to March 1 for Fall admission in the same year, October 1 for January admission in the following year.
