Topic: How do you greet your classes?
Typically I arrive a few minutes before class starts, and in greeting I repeat the names of the few students there, and then say, for instance, "Ms. Williams: What is a fraction and how many types of fractions are there?" I ask the same question several times, even if one student gives me the correct answer. Other students arrive in the middle of my examination, and when it is time to start the session, I say, "Alright," and if we are continuing a topic I ask, "Where were we last time?" and if we are going to start a new topic, I announce it. If I arrive exactly on time, I say, "Good afternoon, everybody; let's get to work."
