SOTA Activators
Summits On The Air is a scheme that encourages amateur radio operators to go portable and work from high places around the country, and around the world. Operators don’t need to be a mountaineer to take part, and if the idea of climbing mountains and hills in the name of amateur radio doesn’t appeal, then they can be a ‘chaser’ sitting comfortably at home working the more adventurous SOTA operators.
For activators along with their Radio Equipment and battery other equipment can come in handy, such as a GPS device, a decent compass and set of maps, a first aid kit, torch and waterproof clothing. Logging is important, so an LZ Organiser II fitted with HamLog would help with this rather than pen, paper, clipboard which is difficult to keep dry. HamLog can record all the reverent details needed to Submit the Activation Log.

HamLog for Organiser XP Owners
Those PSION Organiser II XP owning amateur radio enthusiasts who wish to put their XP to use logging their radio contacts but cannot run the HamLog programme above could try. (1) Jotter Utility or (2) The the pocket spreadsheet. The re-published Jotter Manual (here) includes a section on how you might integrate the radio Logs into the Jotter notebook.
xpTOOLS
An issue for those enthusiasts that want to use their XP for this logging is the poor file handling functions of the standard CM/XP Organiser. xpTOOLS is a program pack that combines Peter Houppermans MultiDIR function with Jaap's xFiles and Info routines, along with a few extra Comms Functions.
The Organiser Pack Image (OPK) is (here) for those that have the ability to 'MAKE' a pack. Others can use the contact information (here) to see if a pack can be made for them.
Once you have this pack installed you will be able to see, access and store the Jotter or spreadsheet files along with the CM/XP Diary and other system files. Pop out the guide for further information.
