This large imposing gate has recently ( February 2017 ) been erected across our public accessway on the Queen's Chain behind the border of Mangawhai Tavern and the Harbourside Estate development. It has sliding locks on it .

No attempt has been made to assuage locals or to explain the context justifying its presence
