I put myself forward as a candidate for the Otamatea Ward in the October 2016 Kaipara District Council elections.

" I was affectionately known as 'the bulldog with lipstick' by members of the committee in our dealings with 5 Kaipara mayors over the last 22 years while serving our community as secretary for the Hakaru Landfill Liaison Committee.

My primary value to you and to our community is my uncompromising commitment to the principles of good governance to ensure that the tail is never to be allowed to wag the dog.

By means of open and honest governance, I will facilitate self-determination for the people within our diverse communities from Mangawhai in the east, to Matakohe in the west, Kaiwaka on State Highway 1, to Maungaturoto, Paparoa, Pahi and to all the rural communities in between.

I'm street-smart and world-wise,well-travelled, well-read, a good-communiticator, politically aware, progressive, caring, a mother and a hospice volunteer.

Caring for our communities and our environment. It's up to us ! "
