Saturday 18th November – Table Top Sale

Think of it as an indoor car boot sale !!

Doors open at 9am for sellers to set up.

Open to the public (buyers) from 10am – 12 noon.

£10 per table - must be pre-booked and paid for in advance.

Tea/Coffee etc available. Guess the Name of the Toy and Tombola.

Entry fee: £2 per adult (includes a free cuppa)

Saturday 2nd December at 2pm – Christmas Get Together

Come and have some fun and try your hand at making a festive wreath.

Materials will be supplied, or bring your own to personalise your wreath.

Teas/Coffees, Mince Pies and Mulled Wine.

Places are limited so make sure to book - £25 pp

Remembrance Weekend 2023

Friday 10th November: There will be a short Service of Remembrance, organised by St Helen's First School, gathering at 10.45am on the Green.

Sunday 12th November (Remembrance Sunday): There will be a short Service of Remembrance gathering at 10.50am on the Green.

All are welcome to both services.

Festival of Cribs and Chrismons

St. Helen’s Church, Longhorsley

Come and make some Chrismons to hang on the special Chrismon tree and discover their meanings.

See the collection of Longhorsley Nativity and Crib scenes.

Sunday 26th November 10am

Everyone welcome to celebrate the start of Advent.

Fri 3rd November, 7pm-11pm: Pub night. Come and socialise with your neighbours..

Sun 12th November, 7pm-11pm: Quiz for Maureen. £5 per person to include refreshments with additional donations to go to St. Oswald’s Hospice.

Sat 18th November, 7pm-11pm: French Night. Includes 2 course French inspired meal, £15pp, tickets to be booked in advance.

Fri 24th November,  9am-1pm: Crafty Friday, making a beaded bauble activity. £5 for non-members.

The 25th Ball is on Saturday 2nd December at Linden Hall. 

Tickets are £50pp, which includes a glass of fizz, a three course dinner, close-up magician, fantastic band Shakedown and our amazing raffle.

Wingates Village Institute Annual General Meeting

will be held on Friday 24th November at 7.00pm at the Institute 

This meeting is open to all

A free drink will be offered to attendees before the meeting starts

Walking Group

The walks are usually 4 to 6 miles long and it’s a good idea to bring a drink and energy snack on the walk.

Christian Vision for Men

The Christian Vision for Men group has monthly breakfasts at the Angler's Arms. Our next breakfast will be on Saturday 25th November at 8.30am. Our speaker that morning will be one of our own members, Tony Patrick, whose title is “Getting Ready for the Wedding”. The charge for those attending the breakfast is £11.

Longhorsley WI

Our Social Evening last month was very well attended and everyone enjoyed the pop and popcorn.

The next Meeting is on Thursday 2nd November when Member Laurelie will be hosting a Craft Workshop.

We have recently welcomed two new Members, from Longframlington and Swarland, both having visited for two previous meetings. If anyone else would like to give us a try please come along or give myself or Sally Woolley a ring.

Junior Football Club

Longhorsley Juniors are well underway with the 2023/24 season. We have over 120 kids signed up for this season with each of the age groups full. Our training will soon be moving from the village green to the MUGA, with the training times below:

U8’s Monday 6pm - 7pm

U6’s Tuesday 5pm - 6pm

U9’s Tuesday 6pm - 7pm

U12’s Giras Tuesday 7pm - 8pm

U7’s  Wednesday 5pm - 6pm

All, please be aware that Longhorsley Village football team use the MUGA on the above days and times from October to April inclusive.

Longhorsley Local History Society

The next meeting is on Tuesday 14th November at 7.30pm in the Village Hall. There will be a talk on the LV50 boats (lightships) by one of the members of the society. Entrance is free.

Northumberland Wildlife Trust - Coquetdale Group

We meet on the first Monday of each month from September to April at the Jubilee Hall, Rothbury. Outings/visits are organised in the summer months. Guests are very welcome and a fee of £5 is charged. Doors open at 7pm with tea and coffee available for a small donation.

6th November at 7.30pm: “From Soil to Song” an illustrated talk by Charlie Bennett on his project of rewilding and how he got to where he is now.

4th December at 7.30 pm: Lee Rankin will give an illustrated talk “Wilding West Chevington - from excavators to pollinators, a nature recovery journey”.
