The Saarbrücken Series on Linguistics and Language Methodology (SSLLM) is under the expert editorial leadership of Professor Thomas Tinnefeld, Full Professor of Applied Languages at Saarland University of Applied Sciences. With extensive expertise in linguistics and foreign language pedagogy, Professor Tinnefeld ensures that the series maintains the highest standards of academic quality and editorial rigour.
Editorial Team and Collaborators
In addition to the Series Editor, the series benefits from a comprehensive network of invited professors, scholars, and experts who serve as editors, co-editors, and collaborators. These professionals are carefully selected based on their subject-matter expertise and commitment to advancing research in linguistics and language methodology. Their roles include:
Manuscript Review: Supporting the editorial process by contributing to the thorough and impartial evaluation of submitted manuscripts.
Quality Assurance: Ensuring the scholarly quality and linguistic accuracy of each volume through detailed review and copyediting.
Scholarly Collaboration: Offering academic insight and fostering interdisciplinary exchange that enhances the overall contribution of the series.
Peer Review Description
All manuscripts submitted to this series undergo a formal and independent peer review process prior to publication. Each manuscript is reviewed by the Series Editor and at least one external peer reviewer or co-editor. These external reviewers are affiliated with academic or research institutions outside the editor’s home institution and country and have no formal or informal ties to the book series. This process ensures compliance with international standards for independent peer review, including those set forth by the Directory of Open Access Books (DOAB).
In some cases, additional external experts (“invited experts”) may be consulted to provide specialised evaluations. These experts are likewise independent of both the editor’s institution and the series.
Exception: One volume in the series, authored solely by the Series Editor, did not undergo external peer review. All other titles have been independently evaluated by at least one qualified external expert.
The peer review procedure for each title is fully documented and archived by the editorial office to ensure transparency and accountability.
