Class starts promptly at 8:00a (most people arrived 15 minutes early). You'll be done for the day by 5:00p, including the FCC exam.
The FCC Examiners begin test activities at 4:00 pm. The exam is 35 multiple choice questions, it will take between 15 and 30 minutes, but there is no time limit.
FEE: No charge for the class (but there is a $15 charge for the FCC exam, at the time of the exam). The class instructors are NOT the FCC Examiners. The Examiners are from the Saratoga Volunteer Examiners group: http://www.svve.org/
WHAT TO BRING for the day:
Lunch – Bring your own or purchase locally
(Happy Hound, Whole Foods, Lunardi, Rite Aid, CVS, ...)
Bring your own refreshments
There will be a 30-45 minute lunch break, in addition to bio breaks mid-morning and mid-afternoon..
WHAT TO BRING for the Exam:
Identification: One government-issued photo ID such as a driver’s license or passport, or any two of the following: non-photo IDs:
- birth certificate w/appropriate seal,
- minor’s work permit, school report card,
school ID card or library card.
Your FRN (your SSN is too risky because of identity theft, so the FCC provides their own ID#, the FRN) Go to: https://apps.fcc.gov/coresWeb/publicHome.do
$15.00 Exam Fee (Exact Cash, or Check made payable to ARRL VEC).
Calculators will be provided during the license exam, if needed.

BEFORE the Class: Take at least one practice exam a week before the class https://hamexam.org/exam/15-Technician
The more practice exams you take, the higher your actual score will be. (A practice exam takes only 15 MINUTES … No preparation is needed)
Almost everyone who has taken practice exams has passed the actual exam.
If you have the time and are curious, you can see the full Question Pool from which the actual exam questions will be taken. Many of the questions may scare you, but DON'T worry, you will learn enough to PASS, even if you don't believe it now.
