Ray Bradbury's The Veldt

Read the story and try to reflect on the following questions:

7. Did you notice / can you spot any nice metaphors or similes?

8. Is there any positive technology in this story? Would the family be
happy without any technology? If not, what technology would they miss?

9. How does Bradbury describe technology? Could you build a
nursery from the description in this story?

10.                    Do you think this story would work the same if it were literally
about TV in the 1950s instead of the virtual reality nursery? What would be different about that version of this story? Is this story really about TV or is it about some larger issue?

11. Is there something that makes the nursery special? Could you write the same story about, say, cars? (Which also became more popular in the 1950s)
