Performance Poetry, or Slam (Poetry)
Have a go at writing a slam poem - which means:
1) finding a topic, a story, an experience worth retelling
2) writing about it, at first a bit randomly, exploring details, pondering adjectives or adverbs to accurately describe characters, objects, feelings or sensations
4) choose what is worth expressing by reading your text out loud, choose what you can or want to leave out and rewrite until you find a certain musicality that accompanies your text - sounds, rhythm, images...read your words out loud as much as you need
5) rewrite and rehearse until you are ready to perform
