Sam Tam (譚立三), Class of 68
Dear fellow alumni,This is Sam Tam (譚立三), Class of 68, a lost soul who have left Hong Kong for the USA since early 70 and recently reunited with Warren Yau by email and phone but unfortunately not in person.
He is so generous that he has invited me to visit him in London, making a lot of tempting offers that I can't refuse. Warren! When my next travel opportunity comes along, I will pay you a visit. That is my promise! By the way, too bad! Manchester United lost in the Champion League Final.
Last week or so, I received a few wonderful emails and was shared with some precious and touching stories about their close encounter with our beloved teachers at LCU during our formative years. In retrospective, I was too young and ignorant to fully understand our beloved teachers' professionalism, love and caring at the time. My mind was always into football because I dreamed to be a professional footballer at that stage of my life. Consequently, I had often gotten my fair share of extra instructions in school work and in discipline. For that, I am truly grateful.
I firmly believe that we have received an all around quality education at LCU as indicated by those fellow alumni touching emails. They are so real, so genuine, so appreciative, and so full of love. Their characters of such high caliber were gradually cultivated and developed in those formative years at LCU by our beloved teachers. We are very proud to report out to you (our beloved teachers) that we have done well in this department. Your untiring efforts to develop us as an all around person are fully appreciated for the rest of our life.
Finally, l would like to thank those fellow alumni who have created, launched and maintained our LCU website so that letters, photos and even videos could be shared. Our unique experience at LCU in the past will be collectively documented, shared, and continued into the future using this platform. Warren and I share a vision that one day, we would meet all our dear fellow alumni and our beloved teachers in Hong Kong. It will be a fantsatic event for all of us for sure!
Best Regards,
Sam Tam, Class of 68
